Happy Holidays From The Old Creamery Quilt Shop!

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!

What a year 2020 has been!  Let’s hope that 2021 is much better!

Our industry was hit hard when our shops had to close for two months due to the pandemic.  All shows and retreats that I vend at were also cancelled.  Thank goodness for online sales and curbside pickup!  It allowed for a bit of relief.  I had to lay off my employees during this time period, which was sad.  I couldn’t stay away!!  I spent the time filling a few orders, cleaning and organizing!!  I had lots of time to evaluate how my business was structured and if any changes needed to be made.

Moving out of the shutdown, I chose to start doing the long arming again.  I did some of it when we first opened the store and it seemed like the right time to go back.  I have enjoyed getting back into it!!   As I was spending all my time upstairs in the loft area, the wheels started turning!!  It seemed like a waste of a large unique space just for the long arm machine.  So we got busy and split the room into two spaces.  One for the long arm/office and the other for the Country Chic Boutique!!  We had our first sale in October and it was a great success.  The sales were held on the second full weekend of each month.  December was the last sale.  In 2021 it will resume in April and run through December again.  The shop is filled with repurposed items, furniture, antiques, florals and greens for your own creative inspirations, décor items, gift items, quilts, runners, and much more!  We are also now a dealer for Iron Orchid Design décor stamps, moulds, and transfers.  Check out their website…..loaded with many great ideas!!  Watch for classes next spring on using IOD to create masterpieces!!  I will post the classes on our website.  I will also alert via Facebook and will continue to offer sneak peeks and boutique open dates via Facebook.  Make sure to follow us on Facebook at the Old Creamery Quilt Shop.

On a sad note, we had to close the Woolen Mill this year.  The equipment has been sold and will be moving to South Dakota to the Foster Creek Woolen Mill.  She is just starting out, so if you have wool that you would like processed, or know someone who does, please research her mill!

There has been disruption in the distribution chain this year.  Fabric is running one to two months behind.  The notion and pattern distributors are struggling as well.  We are out about three weeks now on order fulfillment.  We practice much patience!!!  It’s hard to put a newsletter out with what is coming in because I never know when lines will be shipping!!

This year we will be closed between Christmas and New Year’s to allow our employees time to spend with family.  We will be closed on Christmas Eve day through January 3rd

Wishing many blessings to all!   Thank you for still shopping with us through the pandemic.  Your patronage is appreciated beyond measure!!
