The Lisa Bag by Sally Tomato
This Sally Tomato bag is perfect for your evening out essentials OR your everyday essentials. Lisa features a sleek design, zipper top closure, and customizable strap.

In this class you will learn how to sew with faux leather, attach the handmade label, sew a zipper with zipper tape, attach bag feet, as well as use webbing to make a strap.
This bag is easily customized to your color palette and a great option for someone wanting to venture into bag making without a lot of complicated corners and bindings.
You will need a Lisa Bag pattern from Sally Tomato. This is the 2026 free pattern of the year. You can download it from the Sally Tomato website or ask for a copy when you register for the class.
Supplies as listed on the back of the pattern:
-5/8 yard main fabric (faux leather was used in the sample)
-1/3 yard lining (fabric was used)
-1/2 yard fusible interfacing
-1/8 yard heavy stabilizer
-2 - 1/2" D Rings
-2 - 1" OR 1.5" Swivel Hooks (if using 1/5" strapping you will need 1.5" swivel), if making strap from fax leather, 1"
-1 - 1" or 1.5" slider buckle (same as above)
-Size #5 nylon coil zipper 17" + 1 zipper pull (or 2 if making like sample) Sally Tomato Zipper Tape by the yard was used in class sample.
-Non-stick Needles Size 12 or 14
-Thread as listed in the pattern to match
Optional Supplies (used in sample)
-4 - 1/2" Bag Feet
-1 - Handmade Label
-1.5 yards of webbing for bag strap (be sure to purchase the correct size swivel hooks and slider buckle for your strap)
Traditional Class Supplies:
-Sewing Machine. A zipper foot or narrow 1/4" foot is also helpful for zipper installation
-Ruler, scissors, seam ripper, clips, clips/pins
-Rotary cutter/mat (some are provided in the classroom)
-Thread for sewing and topstitching (polyester if possible)
Optional Supplies:
-By Annie Basting Tape
-Basting spray or glue
-Chalk (for marking)
